Is it weird that when I watch television, which is usually some type of cooking show, that I spend most of my time analyzing/appreciating the kitchen design?
I wish someone would start a website where they would make the layouts/blueprints available.
Some of my favorites:
I like the layout of Lucinda Scala Quinn's kitchen on "Mad Hungry." I also like the way it incorporates a rustic look with bright color & open shelving. I love the chalkboard & the way it just "looks" like a family loves cooking together there!
I love the bright green subway tile, turquoise cabinets & once again, the open shelving on "Tyler's Ultimate." I can't say I'd want to pay for the "Chester" copper pots, but they are beautiful hanging in his kitchen. Also, they always have the lighting perfect for this show.
I think they must tape it in the morning when the sun comes bright through the windows!
One more... The Barefoot Contessa. Her kitchen is great because it's bright & fresh.
Take a look. It just wouldn't be the same without the fresh basil on the counter. No really. It wouldn't. Those designers know what they're doing.
Last but not least: This kitchen is terrible! Who color coordinates each show to match their outfit with the curtains and plates??? Get Real!
We renovate houses every now and again and I always wish the camera-men for these shows would zoom that camera out & show the full kitchen! I know it's just a set in most cases, but Please will someone share pictures of the kitchen itself or link to the designers that put those kitchens together???
